New line layout from Lelystad to Zwolle

SPITZKE SPOORBOUW at the “Construction Open Day" on 5 June 2010 in Lelystad

OFLI, the major Dutch project started at the end of 2008 to extend the railway line from Lelystad to Zwolle is the focus of public attention from the first cut of the spade. After all, with the new line layout, Flevoland, wrested away from the IJsselmeer around six decades ago, will have a modern, direct link to the Hanseatic town of Zwolle. The so-called “Hanzelijn” will be a 50 km long, dou-ble-track high-speed route in which the Dutch state is investing 1,116 million Euro. Completion is planned for the end of 2012.
Construction work is currently progress-ing at full pace. This is especially true for the Lelystad area, where SPITZKE SPOORBOUW BV is working on an extensive complete contract for the extension of the railway tracks including overhead line, safety systems and power supply for Lelystad main railway station. The contract includes the construction of 12,000 m new tracks, 20 points, 30,000 m overhead line system, installation of the complete signalling and very complex cable civil engineering as well as the complete planning for all trades.
On 5 June, at this year's "Construction Open Day", the residents of Lelystad and the surrounding area got to see how the construction work is progressing for themselves. The contractors' association Bouwend Nederland had invited the public to the "Dag van de Bouw". And numerous interested people turned up. Apart from ProRail and LELY200, SPITZKE SPOORBOUW BV was also one of the day's hosts. Its project management presented the SPITZKE Group's services at an information stand and explained the current and future work during guided tours of the construction site. Of special interest was the pending 50 hour full track possession over the weekend from 19 to 21 June, during which track work, foundation construction and erection of overhead line masts is planned.
